World No. 1 Rafael Nadal is set to face familiar opponent Andy Murray for a spot in the French Open championship final. The players will contest their 15th career meeting in the first semifinal Thursday afternoon.
Defending champion Rafael Nadal enters into the semifinal with a 10-4 series advantage over 4th seed Andy Murray. The two last battled earlier this season in Monte-Carlo, where the Mallorcan held on to win a semifinal battle in three sets. Thursday signals their four meeting on clay.
After fighting through a couple of difficult early rounds, Nadal upped his level to score straight-set victories against Antonio Veic, veteran Ivan Ljubicic and 2010 runner-up Robin Soderling.
